Crockpot Apple Sauce | Mulling it to Miller

Homemade Apple Sauce

I recently went Apple picking with a coworker, which I hadn’t done since I was a kid. Unfortunately for us, it was absolutely frigid and we only had 20 minutes to pick (as we went right after work this week).

With so many apples, the first thing I decided to make was some homemade applesauce. I figured besides having some to eat, I could use it in my zucchini breakfast muffins (recipe coming soon)!

So, here is the quick and easy recipe!

  1. Pick/buy 14 apples – I used a mix of kinds since while picking I just threw them all together
  2. Peel the apples
  3. Cut into quarters or use an apple slicer like pictured (I got mine from Bed, Bath and Beyond)
  4. Place apples, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp lemon juice and 1/2 cup water into your crockpot
  5. Cook on high for 3-4 hours until apples are soft and almost frothy
  6. Enjoy! Serve warm or put in the fridge/can it for later!

(Makes approximately 4-6 cups)
