The Best Pulled Pork – Crockpot Style

So those of you who know me know that I absolutely HATE all things BBQ. Unfortunately, that is not the case for Steve or the rest of my family. In an attempt to show my appreciation for all of their help the past few weeks while I have been recuperating from the car accident, I made my venture into BBQ ribs and pulled pork! I must admit, while I don’t like eating these things, they were SOOOOO easy to make. I just threw all the ingredients in my crockpot and let them simmer all day before lathering them with more BBQ (Steve likes his ribs & pulled pork extra sloppy – I guess that’s what this means).


4 pound pork shoulder roast
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup brown sugar
28 ounce barbecue sauce ( I used Sweet Baby Rays – put in about 16oz to cook and use the remaining for your sauce )


  1. Spray the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray (or use a slow cooker liner to make clean up a breeze!).
  2. Add the brown sugar and pineapple juice into the slow cooker and give it a stir to mix.
  3. Place the pork shoulder into the slow cooker.
  4. Pour the BBQ sauce over the meat. Put the lid back on the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 8-10 hours.
  5. After it is done in the slow cooker, use forks or shredder tongs (highly recommend) to gently pull it apart in a separate bowl.
  6. Add the remaining BBQ sauce!
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy! Steve likes to make his into a sandwich with Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, fresh jalapeños and coleslaw 🙂
