Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Butter melted
  • 2 Eggs
  • 5 Ripe Bananas Mashed
  • 1/2 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1 TSP Vanilla
  • 2.5 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 TSP Baking Soda
  • 1 TSP Salt
  • 1 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease or spray a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan, set aside.

  2. In a large bowl whisk together the melted butter, and sugars. Add the eggs, bananas, vanilla and buttermilk; whisk until smooth.

  3. Sprinkle the flour, baking soda and salt over the butter mixture and stir to mix until just combined. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.

  4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 60 minutes +/- or until crust is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool until warm before serving!

Recipe Notes

  • Optional: add chopped nuts
  • Substitute: Buttermilk with yogurt or sour cream
